Will the software run on Vista?
This
is typically caused because you have a generic printer
driver installed on your system, or on the server where
the printer is connected. You need to install the
correct printer driver on your local machine. The
specific instructions will vary with each printer.
In general, click Start / Settings / Printers. Right
click on your printer icon and click Properties.
There should be an Advanced tab or button which will take
you to a screen where you can update the printer driver.
Use the manufacturer's driver - not a Windows generic
driver. You can always download the latest driver
from the manufacturer's web site.
Before inserting a field, press return once to add a
carriage return to the top of the page. Then insert
your field.
Put
your cursor in the middle of the field name and then press
backspace.
First make sure tat you have invited the guests to the
party - using the Invite Family and Friends to Events.
If you have invited them, you can fix the problem by
un-inviting them and inviting them again. However,
if you have entered any gifts, rsvps, travel, or any other
information for the guest, you will not want to un-invite
them as this will delete all of their data. If you
have information entered for the guest, then go to the
Family and Friends screen and change something - erase it
and re-enter it (even one letter). This should
update the record properly and you should then see them on
your report.
Exit
the program and then restart it. This should
eliminate the error.
Yes.
You can install the software on two computers and then
by copying the database file to a floppy, you can take
your data from one computer to another. You can also email
the data file back and forth if you are sharing the program
with a relative or fiance in another city. The database
file is called wedmagic4db.mdb and it is stored in the
Wedding Magic 4 directory/folder. Locate the file and copy it
to a floppy.
If
you ordered the software on-line, you will have to download
the demo onto the second computer, then email our tech
support department to receive a code for the second computer.
You will need to send the name and serial number of the
original order, and the code entry number and computer
id for the second computer.
Keep
in mind that you can not work on the software on both
computers at the same time (the system will not sync the
data up - it will overwrite one).
When
backing up the database I receive an error that the file
is already in use.
Exit
the program and then go back in and try it again.
Installation Problems.
Wedding Magic 4.0 was designed using the
latest Microsoft files and tools. As a result, it you are
using an older version of Windows, you might have to go
through a couple of extra steps to get your system files
up to date. The same system files that Wedding Magic
uses, are also used by Internet Explorer. So if you have
updated your copy of Internet Explorer, you may not
experience all of the messages indicated in the
installation readme file associated with your operating
system.
In
order to incorporate all of the files that might be needed by customers
running older operating systems, the installation file is quite large.
We are working on reducing the size. Currently it is close to 30MB.
Within the next few weeks, we will break it out to two smaller files to
allow you to download only the parts you need.
The
minimum requirements are Windows 98 with Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2.
Also, your screen resolution must be set to at least 800x600 to install
the program.
*To
change your screen resolution, right click on your desktop and then click
Properties. Go to the Settings screen and change the resolution to at
least 800x600.
* To
check your operating system version, click Start / Control Panel /
System.
The
installation might take around 15 minutes. We apologize for the steps
that you have to go through to get the software installed, but we are sure
that you will definitely find it is worth it once you get the program
installed.
Click on the
icon to view the readme file with installation instructions for each
operating system.
I get a Run Time 430 automation error
on the Wedding Professionals screen.
This is only a problem for
users who used the 2000 version of the Installation.
The problem is solved by updating your Microsoft MDAC
version. Download and install the latest MDAC version
from their web site to take care of the problem:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=39249&area=search&ordinal=1
Towards the bottom of the page there is a link to Download
Now the MDAC TYP.exe.
Will
the software run on Vista?
Yes. However, until changes are made to the code to
address security issues in Vista, after
installation,
right click on the Wedding Magic shortcuts created
by the installation, select properties, then the
compatibility tab, and select the option to run this
as an administrator.
